Who Are Zamp?

Born in the USA in 2003, Zamp Helmets are the fastest growing brand in motorsport. Born out of a demand for high quality yet reasonably priced motorsport equipment. Zamp combines cutting edge designs and leading safety standards to provide the ultimate driving experience.

Orders

I Have Placed My Order, But Some Of The Products Are On Backorder. Can I Receive The Order In Two Shipments?

Unfortunately this is not possible. However, if you would like to swap the items in your order for items that are currently in stock, or receive a refund for the items on backorder, please email our Customer Services team at info@zamphelmets.eu.

Which Website Should I Order On - UK or EU?

You will see in the top right corner of your screen that there is a toggle, switching you between our European website & our UK site. Before ordering, please ensure that this is set to the correct territory for your delivery address. For example, if you are ordering within Europe, please ensure the toggle says EU. If you are ordering in the UK, please ensure this is set to UK. This is to avoid any additional delivery, customs & import charges that you may incur.

Where’s My Order?

All orders ship with leading shipping provider DPD via a tracked shipping service. As soon as your order is processed by our warehouse staff you will receive an email notifying you that it is on its way. Included in this email is a tracking number that will allow you to follow the parcel the entire way.

Can I Exchange If Something Isn’t Quite Right?

Whilst we hope to offer you the best possible advice prior to ordering your helmet (read here for full details on “How To Pick the Correct Helmet Size”), on some occasions you may need to return it back to us in exchange for something more suitable. If you are not happy with your helmet or require a different size or model then we are happy to replace this for you. Submit your return request HERE and a member of our team will be in touch within 1-2 working days to notify you of the status of your return.

I Haven't Received An Email Confirmation - What Do I Do?

How quickly you receive our email confirmation can depend on your email provider and whether the email has been incorrectly marked as junk. Please add info@zamphelmets.eu to your safe senders list to ensure safe receipt. If you still do not receive a confirmation after this then please contact our Customer Service team.

How Do I Amend/Cancel An Order?

If you have placed an order but then wish to change or cancel it, please contact our Customer Service team as soon as you can. We will try our best to make any changes but we will be unable to do so if the order is already being processed in the warehouse and/or dispatched. Unfortunately, goods that have already been dispatched cannot be amended or redirected to an alternative delivery address.

Can I Use My VAT Number?

Yes! You can include your valid VAT number at the Checkout page.

Product information

Do Zamp Helmets Come With Clear Visors As Standard & Is This Included In The Base Price?

Yes, all of our helmets come with a 3mm clear visor as standard which is included within the price of the helmet.

If you wish to change your visor, we can do this for you before we ship your helmet to you. Simply select the Accessory Fitment option at Checkout.

Will my Zamp Helmet work with head and neck restraint devices?

All adult Zamp Helmets come with pre-drilled M6 terminals, making them compatible with HANS (Head and Neck Restraint Devices). You can choose to purchase your helmet with the HANS posts already fitted too – simply select our Accessory Fitting Service at checkout.

Why Is There A Difference in Price From One Model To The Next When Some Look Very Similar?

Zamp offer a range of helmet models at various price points depending on a few features, including: helmet construction material, homologation approval, design, features & sizing (adult vs youth).

How Long Should I Keep My Helmet For & What Do I Do If It Is Involved In An Accident?

Good practice is to replace your helmet every three to five years depending on the amount of use and its condition.

 

If the helmet had been involved in an accident, it should be inspected carefully and replaced if there are any signs of shell cracking or liner compression. If the driver loses consciousness during an accident, the helmet should be replaced immediately.

What Helmet Do I Need?

There are a number of factors that will influence what helmet you need. The first of which is what Homologation do you need (FIA / SNELL / CMR)? This depends entirely on what you intend to race in; if you are unsure we suggest contacting your race organiser for more detail.

Once you have discovered the answer to the above, it is simply a case of selecting the helmet that suits your needs; open cock pit vs closed, endurance vs sprint etc. For more detail on the specific qualities of each helmet please read “The Ultimate Helmet Buying Guide”

How Do I Change a Z20 Visor & Will It Fit My Helmet?

All the RZ-Series Helmets we list on our website are compatible with the Z20 Visor.

DO NOT USE power tools or over tighten screws when changing shields.

Step 1 – Lay a towel on a flat surface and set the helmet on it.
Step 2 – Remove the shield pivot tensioners on each side. (This is the smaller screw on the sides of the shield.)
Step 3 – Remove the shield pivot screws on each side. (This is the larger screw on the sides of the shield. For best results, we suggest using a quarter to loosen/tighten these screws.)
Step 4 – Remove the shield. We suggest using a soft cloth towel to wipe down the rubber seal as well as where the shield mounts to the helmet for best results.
Step 5 – Place the new shield on the helmet. There are two white washers that go between the shield and helmet, make sure these are in place before re-installing the shield pivot screws.
Step 6 – Hand thread the shield pivot screws to hold the shield in place. Once hand threaded, use a quarter to tighten until snug with the helmet shell. Do not over tighten.
Step 7 – Hand thread the shield pivot tensioners, then tighten to desired tension for shield movement.

How Do I Install Spoilers?

We offer both a Front Chin Spoiler and a Rear Spoiler that can be fitted to a number of our Zamp Helmets.

Front Chin Bar Spoiler:

Step 1 – Temporary Marker to mark position of Front Spoiler Centre on Chin Bar.
Step 2 – Clean surface of the helmet.
Step 3 – Remove red protective film from adhesive on spoiler.
Step 4 – Lightly set spoiler on front of helmet. Once positioned correctly, apply firm pressure to attach spoiler.

Rear Spoiler:

Step 1 – Temporary Marker to locate centreline of spoiler and helmet.
Step 2 – Put the helmet on as you would wear it while racing. It is important to mount the spoiler so it sits 1″ below Top Centre when wearing.
Step 3 – Mark position of rear spoiler, located 1″ below Top Centre (have someone help with this step)
Step 4 – Clean the helmet. We suggest using a mild soap and water (Important: don’t use anything that has wax as this will reduce adhesion)

Step 5 – Remove red protective film from adhesive on spoiler.
Step 6 – Lightly set spoiler on rear of helmet. Once positioned correctly, apply firm pressure to attach spoiler. It is important to apply pressure first in the centre and work to the sides.

How Should I Look After My Zamp Helmet?

Exterior: We suggest using a mild soap and water to clean the exterior of the shell and wipe dry with a clean cloth. Allow helmet to fully dry prior to storage back in your helmet bag.

Interior: We suggest removing the liner from the shell of the helmet and washing separately using a mild soap and water. Allow to dry fully prior to reinstalling into your helmet.

Storage: Proper storage is important to avoid damage to your helmet. Avoid contact with extreme heat, cold and damp. Do not us any heavy solvents or chemicals to clean your helmet.

I Have A Small Head, Can I Wear A Youth Helmet?

Whilst the measurement guide uses a simple ‘CM’ sizing guide this does not tell the full story. The Shell Size differ massively between the Youth CMR helmets and the adult helmets. As such a 57cm Youth Helmet will not fit the same as a 57cm adult helmet. We therefore WOULD NOT ADVISE buying a Youth CMR helmet if you are over the age of 15.

On the flip side, for younger drivers who have grown out of their 57cm Youth Helmet we suggest that you will require an ADULT size SMALL helmet. See below for comparison between Youth 57cm and Adult size SMALL

Is it Cheaper to Buy from the USA?

NO! It is possible to buy Zamp Helmets listed on Ebay, Amazon or reseller websites that ship from the USA. However, whilst at first glance these prices might seem lower, there are a number of ADDED COSTS that will result in you paying more for your helmet.

You will need to pay SHIPPING, DUTY and VAT on any order into EUROPE from the USA. Below is an example of what these costs look like:

Helmet List Price: $400 + $40 (shipping) = $440.00

Duty (6% of above cost) + Customs Handling Fee ($12) = $38.40

$478.40 + VAT (@20%) = $574.08

It is also worth noting that if you do buy a helmet from the USA and it doesn’t fit or you need to send it back, then you will NOT be able to recover these added costs.

 

Are the Helmets Fitted With HANS Posts?

Whilst we offer HANS posts, they are not provided as standard. You can choose to add these to your purchase.

Returns

How Long Does A Refund Take?

Once we have processed the refund it will usually take 3-5 working days for the funds to show in your account. This may vary depending on your bank.

Shipping

How Much Does Shipping Cost?

Shipping costs are calculated based on your country & the value of your order. To view full shipping information & pricing, please visit our Shipping Times page. All orders ship with leading shipping provider DPD via a tracked shipping service. As soon as your order is processed by our warehouse staff you will receive an email notifying you that it is on its way. Included in this email is a tracking number that will allow you to follow the parcel the entire way.

 

UK orders under £150 will ship with Royal Mail on a 48 hour service.

Will I Have To Pay Customs Charges In My Country?

You will not need to pay any additional customs charges so long as you ensure you are ordering from the correct site (UK or EURO). For example, if you’re ordering from the UK, please use our UK site. If you’re ordering from Europe, please ensure you’re on our Euro site.

My Tracking Number Doesn't Work, What Do I Do?

Tracking numbers rely on the delivery agents updating their systems once the collection has been made, so please allow one working day for the tracking number to be updated. If after this period the tracking number is still not working, please contact our Customer Service team.

How Long Does Shipping Take?

Zamp Helmets offer shipping across EUROPE and ship with DPD using a tracked delivery method. Shipping times vary depending on where you are based.

Sizing

Why Do I Feel Pressure When I Try On My Helmet For The First Time?

Make sure to check under the fit pad and remove any moisture absorbing packets. These are sometimes left inside the helmet to prevent damage during shipping but can make the helmet feel like it is incorrectly sized by adding pressure behind the pads. If no packets are present, we recommend trying your new helmet on for an extended period as padding tends to ‘wear in’ over time. If the helmet is still too tight, have someone re-measure your head to confirm sizing – you may need to move up to the next size.
