Tordoff, 29, will be joining Cobra Sport AmD with AutoAid/RCIB Insurance, behind the wheel of the teams Honda Civic Type R, the car he lost to in race to the BTCC title in 2016.
George Richardson, MD at Helmet 28 LTD, said “I know first-hand what a brilliant driver Sam is, he very nearly won the BTCC in 2016 and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor him this time around.”
“This will be our brands first foray into the British Touring Car Championship, so to sign a driver of Sam’s calibre is a big deal.”
With 7 wins and a total of 28 podiums in the BTCC, Tordoff will be one to watch in the 2019 campaign. The 29 year old will pilot one of the team’s newly acquired Honda Civic Type R machines under his well-known #600 driver number.
Sam Tordoff said “I’m delighted to be representing Zamp in both the British Touring Car Championships and the sports car championships this year. I’ll be wearing Zamp’s RZ-44CE Carbon helmet throughout my 2019 campaign, with a super lightweight design and exceptional ventilation, combing high visibility with a professional aesthetic, it’s the perfect fit.”
The 2019 season starts at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit on 6th/7th April.
